Back on the horse

As some of you know back during the summer Mimi and I started walking every morning at 5am, and even though that is much earlier than I prefer to be awake, I really enjoyed it. In October I had some tumors removed from my legs and stomach area and I had to stop exercising. :( Originally my doctor told me 4 weeks and I would be good to go, but then I had an allergic reaction to the steri strips he used to keep my scarring down so I had to wait even longer. When it was all said and done I went back to walking for about 2 days and that was that. I was in school and trying to keep up with that and Alexa just made it too much for me to deal with. Between that and the cold weather I just couldn't make myself start back...until yesterday!

Today was my second day walking and it made me realize how much better I feel when I do exercise. With the weather warming a bit this week I decided to jump back in. Monday I had a horrible headache at 5am...and Tuesday Mimi didn't wake me up, but instead of putting it off until next week, I just started in the middle. I guess 3 days this week (assuming I walk tomorrow) isn't too bad. Not to mention I'll be back at it next week.

In an effort to hold myself accountable I'm taking a cue from my sister and I'm adding a section to my sidebar that will track my progress. With as busy as we all are, I just wonder how other working parents find the time to exercise. I can only imagine that as Alexa gets older it's only going to get worse! 5am may be the only time I have to work out. I encourage everyone to find some time to exercise if you don't already. Let me know what works for you and check back often to see my progress!
