Easter Pics

The girl loves art...isn't her outfit cute??!! Mimi made her a pillowcase dress and W a pair of matching shorts...then she made Baby C a little dress, but it was too small b/c there were no patterns! I'm lovin the hair bows...they are so much fun to make!

Unwrapping their books from Aunt Sylvia

Alexa loves her books!

Aunt Sylvia reading to her

They took turns pushing each other...although Alexa usually doesn't like W's tricycle b/c when she tries to pedal backwards to stop it will free wheel...the first time it happened (several months ago) she looked up and said "this is broke" LOL!

Oh what a yummy lunch!

Everybody loves the bunny cake!

Somebody mostly likes the icing

Checking out the Easter baskets

David was showing off the lizard he caught

Time for egg hunting :)

Her basket was full!

Poor little lizard...he was slightly traumatized, and probably thanking God that he was still alive at this point! LOL!!

Why is it so hard to get 4 children to cooperate for a group shot?

Easter 2009

What a busy weekend! We had the best time at Jodi's on Saturday...most of our family was there, and that makes it even better. A&W had a good time playing with Luke and David, and I think Luke and David enjoyed being the older cousins :) I have some really cute pictures of all of them, but I don't have my cord with me, so those will have to wait until later.

Mama made the most adorable outfits for A&W...she also made one for baby C, but unfortunately we didn't do a good job of thinking through our measurements, so it didn't quite fit...and we were not about to force it! Definitely going to try that one again b/c it was really cute. After lunch, dessert, and Easter egg hunting, we headed to NewSpring for what may very well be the best service EVER! Just a few stats...between the 3 campuses we had over 15,000 people for all of our Easter services, which is a NewSpring record...then the GVL campus had over 3000 which is a record for us as well. That is truly incredible when you consider that our campus has not even been open a year and we have almost doubled the number from our first Sunday! There were over 800 viewing the service live on the web campus, and the most exciting stat...the last count I saw was between 325 and 350 people gave their lives to Jesus!!! Isn't that what Easter is all about?

God is doing some amazing things through NewSpring, and I am ever in awe that He allows me to be a part of it! So thankful for a church that is committed to reaching the world for Jesus!

I'll try to get some pictures up in the next day or so...my home group is going to dinner tonight to hang out and meet some new people so I don't know if I'll have time after that, but I promise before the week is over I will!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend, and I would love to hear about your experiences! Have a great week!

Aloha Friday

Well, it's Friday again!! I don't know about you, but I'm glad it's finally here :) This week has been exhausting for me, so I'm looking forward to this weekend. We have some big plans! Mimi is going to the Master's Sunday w/ my Grandpa, so as a result we are having our family Easter celebration tomorrow. We've got a big crowd coming, and I know A&W are going to be so much fun hunting Easter eggs. Can't wait to post pictures tomorrow night!

What are your favorite Easter Traditions?

One of my favorite things about Easter is the bunny cake my Aunt Sylvia makes. We have had it for years, and even though I'm a mommy now I still love it...and she is bringing it tomorrow. Answer my question, and then head on over to An Island Life to answer Kailani's question and see what others are asking as well. Here are a few pics from Easter last year...they were so cute in their little outfits Mimi made and Jodi embroidered...their outfits this year are going to be even cuter (if that's possible!).

I'm Back!

It seems like it's been forever since I posted...and aside from the fact that I've been busy with every day stuff, I've been away because of a newly formed addiction. Don't worry...it's not serious, and has actually already gone away. LOL! Let me explain :)

Three weekends ago I went to Cola to see Lindsey...it was certainly an eventful weekend...but more about that later. We went to wal-mart on Saturday and she bought Twilight. I have never had any interest in reading this series, and I really didn't care about the movie either, but I agreed to watch it with her. I really liked the movie, so much in fact, that we watched it twice. She told me the book was so much better, so I decided to read it. She let me borrow it back in November after our beach trip, and I had yet to open the cover. I started reading it the Monday after I came back, and I finished the 4th book Sunday night. Mama and I were both completely hooked...and I have to admit I'm slightly sad that I'm already done reading them. I can't wait to see the next movie, and I'll probably read the books again before then. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense and/or vampires. LOL!

So back to our interesting weekend...Lindsey and I planned to have a girl's weekend as I mentioned in my last post part of our plan was to go to Charleston on Saturday and do some window shopping and eating. Well, we didn't quite make it, and when I say quite I mean at all! Friday night after doing a little shopping in Cola we went out to eat, and on the way home my car DIED! Not going into all the drama, but after more $$ than I would've preferred it's timing belt related, and while that was fixed, a subsequent problem is not worth repairing, and therefore my car is basically dead. As a result, our weekend plans changed quickly and we just stayed around Cola. We still had a great time, and that's the important part!

I'm sure there are other things to update on, but honestly my brain is too tired to think of anything else right now. Not to mention I have a little girl who needs to get ready for bed. So, I'll leave you with a few pictures from the park!

It's Wednesday

I really don't feel like this week is dragging by, but that might be due to the fact that I'm off on Friday. If I haven't mentioned this before, I can flex every other week...which means I work 4 tens and have Friday off. It greatly improves my job satisfaction (which is already high). I have to admit it is slightly depressing to still be here at 6pm, but Friday morning it won't feel depressing at all!

I am really looking forward to this weekend. Alexa and I are going to spend the day together Friday, and then Friday afternoon I'll be headed to Cola to hang out with Linds. We are planning all sorts of fun girly stuff since Sevy is going off w/ the boys. We don't get to hang out like this very often because we are both pretty busy, and weekends are just such precious time. I can't even tell you the last time we did something by ourselves.

Now it's time for a few updates. As you can tell from my exercise snapshot on the sidebar I am keeping up with that fairly well. Last week didn't end as well as I would've hoped, but I jumped right back in on Monday. Just to prove how dedicated I am...I have decided to walk on Friday even though I am not working and I could sleep late instead. Are you impressed?? I am! Let's wait and make that statement on Friday when I actually do walk. LOL!

Alexa is right in the middle or almost through (I can dream right??!!) the terrible twos. I just don't think that name does this stage justice! How in the world she can go from being a sweet little angel one minute to an angry, screaming mess the next is beyond me. I've tried to explain various things to her, and that if she would just listen she would probably get her way, but to no avail! Bedtime has become our greatest struggle, and I have no idea why. She used to go down without a fuss, and then suddenly that went away. I miss it!

I can say that my patience with her has GREATLY IMPROVED! I have a fiery temper (that's putting it mildly!) and on more than one occasion I have lost it when she has one of her fits. I am sure you are all surprised that when I am able to remain calm the situation resolves much more quickly. WOW! If I don't spaz out, it helps her to calm down as well. Patience is certainly not my forte, but it is quickly improving because I am forced to use it so frequently now. LOL!

Well, I guess that's it for now. Hopefully I'll have some GREAT pictures to post after our girls weekend. I know Lindsey will be happy about that...I always drive her crazy with my picture taking. I don't know why, I mean pictures are fun right??!! OH well, she will get over it one way or the other. I hope everyone has a good end to the week, and a great weekend as well!

Here you go Linds!

I know my sweet best friend is about to go crazy, and while I must admit I love teasing her that is not my intention! So, without further adieu is that how you spell that??!! Here are some pictures from our trip this weekend. Alexa was such a trooper and I was so proud of her behavior on the plane and at the memorial service on Saturday.

Waiting on the plan

Looking out the window at our airplane

Skunky face in her seat :)

Just slightly dramatic!

Eating pretzels and watching Dora on the travel DVD (thanks Jodi)

Saturday morning Alexa decided her "lovies" needed a shower

Silly girl...in the mornings she will look at me and say my hair is WILD!

This picture is so funny! My cousin Pam lives in DC and she got 2 shirts (one for me and one for Alexa) and she wanted us to put them on and then come out and show Pop...I thought that might not be such a good idea...she thought it would be funny but I wasn't sure Pop would agree. Alexa put hers on over her jammies and we all laughed about it. She of course had no idea what it was all about, but Pam kept trying to get her to say "Obama"

Ready to play!

On the playground...aren't her sunglasses cute :)

This cute little playground was part of the country club we stayed at, and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it rained Sunday so we didn't get to go back!

Alexa wasn't so sure about this part b/c they were like little islands that moved!

but with Mimi's help she made it all the way across!

Coming down the slide

Up the other set of steps

What a big girl...she didn't need any help when she could reach the rails.

Alexa loved the trampoline and jumped on it by herself for a little while, and then she got down. She decided she wanted to get back up, and instead of asking for help she thought she could do it!

She came pretty close!

She is a strong little girl!

Fun jumping!
