Aloha Friday

Welcome to this edition of Aloha Friday...we just arrived in Florida for the weekend, so my question is related.

If you were in Florida with a 2 year old, what one thing would you be sure to do?

Now head over to An Island Life and check out the other Aloha Friday questions! Can't wait to hear your ideas...maybe I'll get to use some :)

Blank

In so many ways I am just blank right now. I haven't taken any pictures in over a week...and that is just odd, and it's been over a week since I blogged too. I just haven't had anything to say...and still don't.

Work has been super busy, and I am feeling the stress...we are in the process of getting a new practice management system, and the build is pretty intense. A good bit of my time over the next few months is going to be dedicated to this, and just the thought of it makes me tired. Lots of 10 hour days in my future!

Friday we are leaving for Florida, and we are flying. I know you aren't excited about that, but Alexa will be. Every morning on our way to work we pass a small airport and she talks about the planes...how many there are, when ones leaves and when it returns. I can't wait to tell her she actually gets to ride on one soon! I promise to take lots of pictures in the airport, on the plane, and in FL.

I could be wrong...but I would venture to say I won't blog again until after we get back. I hope you all are having a great week!

Aloha Friday

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am really glad it's Friday! The week seems to have gone by quickly, but to be honest I just feel beat up. It could have something to do w/ the post below...hmm...maybe next week will be better. Ok, so now for my question of the day.

What is your idea of the "perfect" Valentine's Day?
This year my idea of the perfect vday is going to the movies with my girls to see He's Just Not that Into You! I know...isn't that the perfect movie to see when you're single on vday??!! I thought it was extremely appropriate. Now head over to An Island Life to see what questions others are asking.

Back on the horse

As some of you know back during the summer Mimi and I started walking every morning at 5am, and even though that is much earlier than I prefer to be awake, I really enjoyed it. In October I had some tumors removed from my legs and stomach area and I had to stop exercising. :( Originally my doctor told me 4 weeks and I would be good to go, but then I had an allergic reaction to the steri strips he used to keep my scarring down so I had to wait even longer. When it was all said and done I went back to walking for about 2 days and that was that. I was in school and trying to keep up with that and Alexa just made it too much for me to deal with. Between that and the cold weather I just couldn't make myself start back...until yesterday!

Today was my second day walking and it made me realize how much better I feel when I do exercise. With the weather warming a bit this week I decided to jump back in. Monday I had a horrible headache at 5am...and Tuesday Mimi didn't wake me up, but instead of putting it off until next week, I just started in the middle. I guess 3 days this week (assuming I walk tomorrow) isn't too bad. Not to mention I'll be back at it next week.

In an effort to hold myself accountable I'm taking a cue from my sister and I'm adding a section to my sidebar that will track my progress. With as busy as we all are, I just wonder how other working parents find the time to exercise. I can only imagine that as Alexa gets older it's only going to get worse! 5am may be the only time I have to work out. I encourage everyone to find some time to exercise if you don't already. Let me know what works for you and check back often to see my progress!

Sunday in Pictures

Sunday after church we took advantage of the warm weather and headed to Jodi and Brad's house to hang out with the fam. We all had a great time, and the pics below will prove it! I really enjoyed being outside with the kids (wow seems strange not to call A&W the babies anymore!) and I can't wait to have more days like this in the future! This is such a fun age :) Thank you Jesus for friends, family, and all the blessings in our lives!

Aloha Friday

What is your favorite thing to do on your day off...if you have nothing you HAVE to do?

Now head on over to An Island Life and see what others want to know today! As for me...I'm taking the day off and spending it with my girl! I think we are also going to visit Walk Walk and baby C! I hope you all have a great day!

A New Day

Do you ever have one of "those" days...a day when nothing seems to go right? I had one of those days this week. Tuesday it was super cold, and when I got to work there was ice behind my car. I saw it...and somehow still managed to fall. While I was holding Alexa no less! We both hit the ground, and I had a less than shining mother moment. Neither of us got hurt, but it did scare us. Alexa more than me because she saw me get upset...but I was scared I had hurt her. Now, this was at 8am...fast forward to 6pm when we were walking out with my boss. My car key is missing. WHAT??!! That's right, it must have fallen out of my pocket when we fell. No idea how that happened. I was so stressed...we looked everywhere, searched my car, came back inside and searched my desk. I was just about to call Pop when I had the idea to look on the receptionist's desk in another area, and sure enough there it was.

When I (finally) got home I was just glad the day was over. Then I realized the difference...there was a time (not too long ago) that falling on the ice would've totally ruined my day, but it didn't. Jesus is doing such a work in me (there's still lots to work on) and my attitude is beginning to change. I was so excited.

Ok now, have you ever had one of those days where you are just in a great mood, and can't stop smiling for no reason at all? Well today is that for me. I am in a great mood simply because I am alive and God is good. There's really nothing more to it. I'm still at work, we were almost late (as usual) and I didn't win the lottery (because I didn't buy a ticket LOL!) it's just a good day. I am learning more and more that there are going to be bad days...and maybe even bad weeks, but ultimately God is in control and He is taking care of me. I need to let others see Jesus shine through me every day, even when I'm not having a great day.

Thank you Jesus for not giving up on me! I can't wait to see what You are going to do next :)

WW: Let's Color!

Recipe

Here is a recipe we tried for the first time this weekend, and the whole family loved it. Even Jimbo who isn't a fan of tomatoes really enjoyed it, and it was super simple, so I know we will be having it again!

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 pkg. (6 oz.) Stuffing Mix for Chicken
1/2 cup water
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
1 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

HEAT oven to 400
MIX tomatoes, stuffing mix, water and garlic just until stuffing mix is moistened.
LAYER chicken, basil and cheese in 3-qt. casserole or 13x9-inch baking dish.
TOP with stuffing. Bake 30 min. or until chicken is done.

If you give it a try let me know how you like it. Now head on over to Mer's Blog and share your fave recipe with her!
